- Matsuba crab is the name of the male snow crab
caught in seas of the Tajima region, one of its
features are their long beautiful arms like pine
needles. It is called the "King of Winter Taste"
because of their firm meat and sweetness, owing to
growing in the pure water of the Japan sea and with
an abundant food supply.
This crab can be caught and eaten only during the November 7th to March 31st season every year, the catch is limited. Especially fresh Matsuba crab is very popular as a high quality food and ingredient.
